Active Coquitlam is a hot new campaign for the City of Coquitlam. In an effort to increase physical activity in the community, the City initiated this extensive campaign. The success of the program has exceeded expectations, tripling goals for participation, doubling goals for web traffic and prompting many favorable calls to the City. The jury is out on increases in fitness, but early results from an Ipsos Reid poll indicate an increase in physical activity in 2008 over 2007. The program has just received a Bronze Quill Award from the BC Chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators.
