British Columbia is home to over 200 First Nations. They are uniquely positioned to offer the best natural experiences this province has to offer.
Aboriginal Tourism BC (now Indigenous Tourism BC) was formed in 1996 to grow and promote Indigenous tourism in British Columbia.
The Herrainco team was asked to help create a visual identity for ATBC. Working with 10 representatives of Indigenous tourism in the province, we walked them through the world in which this identity would live and then asked for their guidance in finding a form all could agree would represent them well and grow the Indigenous tourism sector.
Casey worked with ten leaders of Indigenous tourism businesses and regions to help them define the identity for Aboriginal Tourism BC (now Indigenous Tourism BC)
A number of exercises offered ways to explore ATBC within the context of Canadian and BC tourism as a whole.
Hands became the most universally accepted form of welcome for ATBC.
